DIE-CAST
ALUMINIUM FLOODLIGHT
RANGE
A wide and narrow beam symmetrical die-cast aluminium floodlight
with remote control gear enclosure. Developed to complete the Nordex
floodlighting range. The Vega is suitable for football training
fields, stadia, sport halls, racing circuits, golf courses and
driving ranges, industrial facilities, docks and airports. Vega
luminaires can accommodate 1 000 / 2000 watt short-arc lamps.
CONSTRUCTION
Housing: The housing and frame are manufactured from die-cast
aluminium alloy and are finish with super thermoset polyester powder
coat paint, 2.5 mil nominal thickness, applied over a chromate
conversion coating; 2500 hour salt spray test endurance rating for
outdoor uses.
Reflector:The reflector is manufactured from 99,85% purity anodised
and polished aluminium. It can also be supplied with an anodised and
polished aluminium flux internal baffle, to reduce the spread of
light and direct glare. The luminaire can be provided with three
different optical systems.
Glass Visor: Thermally toughened 5mm.glass is provided for the
standard fixing positions of the floodlight (fig. A). A chemically
toughened 1,6 mm glass (ceramic glass) can be provided for the
fixing positions with an angle more than 70 degrees from the
vertical axis (fig. B). The front glass is fitted inside the die
cast aluminium frame, which is secured by stainless steel screws to
the housing.
Gaskets:All gaskets are made of anti age silicon rubber.
Anti Vacuum Device: A membrane valve (IP 66) has been provided on
the rear section of the floodlight to avoid both compression and
decompression from within the luminaire. This device has a
micro-porous expanded membrane that continuously allows the free
passage of gases and vapours equalising the pressure differential
between the inside of the floodlight and the ambient temperciture
thus preventing stress to the components.
Lamp Access: Easy access for lamp replacement is provided through
the door on the rear section of the floodlight housing. This door is
located on the housing by the means of three stainless steel screws
in order to guarantee the degree of protection.
Electrical: A polycarbonate electrical connection enclosure (IP 65)
is attached to the luminaire stirrup mounting to house the ignitor.
The enclosure is connected to the housing assembly via a flexible
steel tube. This enclosure is provided with a cover and gasket
secured by stainless steel screws. An electrical safety micro-switch
on the rear cover will disconnect the mains supply on opening the
floodlight for maintenance purposes.
Voltage:230 volt, 50 Hz for 1 000 watt MBI-TS/DS lamp and 400 volt
for 2000 watt MBI-TS/DS lamp.
Wiring:Silicon THT-1.5 sq. mm cables.
Lampholder: Kl 2s-7.
MECHANICAL
Mounting is via a galvanised, heavy duty, high gauge steel stirrup
with incorporated aiming device. To ensure that the selected angle
of distribution is maintained, whatever the weather conditions, a
security locking bolt is provided. (This prevents periodic adjusting
of the vertical angle of the floodlight). The stirrup has been
designed with 30-degree angle toward the front of the floodlight in
order to secure a very wide degree of orientation without
obstructing the lighting beam.
OPTIONAL
Immediate hot re-strike facility can be provided on request.
Antigicire deflector made of sendzimir steel and painted with
polyester powder in grey colour to be fixed by stainless steel
screws to the frame. Wire guard from stainless steel wire mesh to be
fixed to the frcime to provide major security in the case of lamp
explosion.
