STREET LIGHTING LANTERN
RANGE
Astra 3® can accomodate 250W/400W HPS, 250W/400W MBI and 250W MBF
lamps.
APPLICATIONS
Astra 3® is suitable for illuminating streets,roads,highways and car
parks. Suggested mounting height :
6-12 meters for 250W and 9-16 meters for 400W.
CONSTRUCTION
Body: is made of die-cast aluminium.
Canopy: injected moulded high quality impact and heat resistant UV
stabilized grey colour (RAL 7035) polycarbonate. The canopy has a
top quality silicon rubber gasket which beds into a deep protected
channel, thus ensuring a high sealing degree.
Bowl: the bowl is available in UV stabilized polycarbonate, giving
added vandal resistance at low mounting heights. It has a reinforced
lip to prevent bowing and hereby ensuring constant gasket pressure
and excellent sealing throughout life. To ensure a firm fix to the
lantern, the bowl is hinged in two corners, and two stainles clips
at the other two corners clamp the bowl securely to the canopy.
Flat glass: a flat glass option is available that can be hinged and
latched in the same way mentioned above.
Optics: High purity one piece aluminium reflector.
ELECTRICAL
The control gear box is provided with a 3-way terminal block. High
temperture silicon insulated conductors are used throughout.
Electrical connections are made quickly via a plug and socket
system.
MECHANICAL
Astra 3® has been designed for ease of installation and maintenance.
Both post top and side entry is possible by reversing the mounting
bracket. The canopy and lamp compartment are hinged to the body and
are fixed by a stainless steel screw. The canopy hinges up to the
body to access to the gear compartment. The quick release gear tray
can be removed for maintenance without disturbing the lamp or
lampholder. Once in position the bowl or glass cannot be
accidentally detached as a screw driver is required to release them.
After lamp insertion, the bowl or glass is hinged and fixed into its
sealed position by means of two stainless steel clips. Hinging down
the bowl (openning the lamps compartment) is equally simple , just
by removing the two clips and bowl hinges down.
