RANGE
Polar® luminaires are suitable for use with a wide range of energy
saving HID lamps including 150/250-/ 400 W HPS, 250/400 W MBI and
250/400 W MBF lamps.
APPLICATIONS
Polar® is the answer when large areas need to be illuminated from
heights exceeding 5 meters i.e. DIY-furniture warehouses, storage,
factories, mills, foundries, processing plants, aircraft hangers,
bus depots, steelworks, indoor sport arenas etc.
CONSTRUCTION
The gear compartment is formed from heavy gauge zinc coated sheet of
steel. Access to the control gear is via two wide openings covered
by thermo resistant and high impact resistant polycarbonate doors
which remain hinged to the body when they are open. Control gear is
mounted on a "plug in" gear tray which is easily removable during
the installation of the luminaire or during maintenance. The
adjustable lampholder, enables optimum positioning of the lamp
within the diffuser, thus permitting a wide range of distribution
patterns. You may choose between an: aluminium diffuser or a
polycarboante refractor. The high purity anodized aluminium
reflector has a top vent which induces a convective self cleaning
effect which minimises dirt build up on the inside surface of the
reflector. The polycarbonate diffuser is the ultimate vandal proof.
ELECTRICAL
Control gear is rated 230V or 240V 50Hz as standard. HPS and MBI
circuits are fitted with superimposed pulse electronic ignitors as
standard,minimising the possibility of ballast failure in prologed
operation with a failed lamp inserted. A three pole terminal block
for mains connection is provided. High temperture silicon insulated
conductors are used throughout.
MECHANICAL
A suspension hook located on the top of the gear housing for
vertical attachment is supplied. A grommeted entry hole is also
provided.
ACCESSORIES
Wire guard: a steel wire guard attached to the glass can be used to
protect the lamp from impact damage.
Tempered glass: the manufacturer of some multi-vapour lamps
recommend that a tempered glass cover be fitted to protect against
fragments should a lamp fracture. This glass can be used for the
aluminium diffuser.
Anti black-out lamp sensor: an electronic sensor detects a failed or
extinguished lamp due to mains interuption induced restrike delay.
An integral auxillary lamp is switched on to provide safety
illumination. When the main lamp is on , the auxillary is
automatically
switched off.
Drop Dish Prismatic Lens: the drop dish can be used to soften and
disburse light thus minimizing glare and maximising visual comfort.
Note that this accessory can only be used with Polar® Aluminium
reflector.
